Beginning in 1941, mobile Nazi killing squads called SS Einsatzgruppen went throughout the Ukraine and Soviet territories murdering approximately 1.5 million Jews.
The trials in December 1943, included testimony by the officers giving disturbing details while expressing no remorse or regret. The trials resulted in their conviction and execution.
