“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue
but with actions and in truth.” I John 3:18
A Jewish story:
A man comes to a rabbi and says,
“Rabbi, let me tell you what I believe!”
The rabbi replies,
“There is no need for that. Let me follow you for thirty days. Then we will sit down together and I’ll tell you what you believe.”
If this happened to you, what would the rabbi have to say to you? Would your language betray something in your heart that should not be there? Would your habits show ‘idols’ that take more time and care than your worship and love for God? Or would you be found faithful, demonstrating a desire for His Heart and an attitude of obedience?
Think on this; act accordingly. Your eternal soul, and that of others, depends on how you live your life beyond any words you say.
