They Survived the Holocaust…

This section features the true experiences of Holocaust Survivors we see and visit today.  This is to fulfill their requests,

“Remember us!  Tell others of our experiences so we are not forgotten!”

Sima

Life in Russia was very difficult from the beginning but got worse when the war started.  The day the war started they ran and escaped from where they lived.  They kept running but her father had to go fight in the Red Army.  It was the last time she saw him.

Sima, her mother and siblings took a train to escape.  However, at one point the Germans stopped it, took everyone off, lined them up and shot them.  Her family ran and all managed to escape before the massacre.  They kept running and hiding.

They lived in Moscow at one time, then went to Vuller, then back to Moscow because of the war.

After the war was over she went to school and became an engineer.  She married and they had children.  After they retired they moved to Israel.  Both their children chose to remain in Moscow.  Her husband loved it in Israel and never wanted to leave.  But he died.

Sima has one brother in Israel and one in Florida, USA.  She has no more contact with the brother in America.

“I came to Israel because I am Jewish, but I feel like this is my home.”
