They Survived the Holocaust…

This section features the true experiences of Holocaust Survivors we see and visit today.  This is to fulfill their requests,

“Remember us!  Tell others of our experiences so we are not forgotten!”

Larisa

When the German occupying forces arrived in their village the Nazi soldiers came to their house.  They wanted the family cow and her father refused them.  When he resisted, with all the children standing there, the German soldiers stabbed and killed him with a pitchfork.

After that Larisa’s mother and older sister were forced to work all day in the coal mines pushing the heavy carts.  Eventually her mother was able to make an agreement with a man from a local Christian church to claim they were married and she and her children were Christian too.  They were baptized and learned to live as Christians.  This way they were kept safe through the war.
