Beit Shalom Lodging & Beit Shalom Community Center

For the first time in at least 7 years, AHI is changing the suggested donation for lodging at Beit Shalom.

Here we have a big home, back yard with pergola and gardens, kitchen and laundry, comfortable main room, sea coast and transportation close by.  We are 10 minutes to two hours from all the sites to see in Northern Israel.  When folks come here they call it “home.” But due to the increase in utility costs, which AHI has been absorbing all this time, we must ask for a bit more.

Here is an update on our plans for Beit Shalom Community Center:

This beautiful building, made with Jerusalem stone, is in the very center of Akko.  It has 56 bedrooms, double occupancy, each with a private handicap- accessible shower and its own heat pump.

Each floor has a modern bomb shelter with filtration. Offices for AHI, a large event / dining room with lots of light and accessible patio surrounding the building.

Double kitchens, trash and laundry rooms with chutes on each floor.  Two elevators, security station and private parking.

There is access to a distribution room allowing us to partner with other organizations so BSCC can be a distribution center, blessing the Survivors and needy Israelis!  And the Veterans would be perfect with delivery!

Walking or wheelchair path to the sea, walking distance to the shuk (market), train and bus station, grocery and mall.

It is perfect for Veterans, no matter their mobility, to come and meet Holocaust Survivors.  This is key.  This is important.

Imagine Survivors with no family, lonely and alone most of the time, being surrounded by those willing to love and assist them.  But they would still have their own private room.  Veterans, Volunteers, Guests, Tour groups would have private rooms like a hotel, but with a feeling of family, and at a lower rate.

A park by the building allows for the Survivors to sit outside and see the community, sit on one of three patios or a balcony, and watch the world around them.  A constant breeze coming in from the sea makes it a delightful place to be.

We need to prepare for the Veterans that will be coming to meet Survivors.  They need a place for lodging, handicap accessible for any Wounded Warriors who join us.

Listen to Hal Lyon as he speaks of the purpose of Beit Shalom Community Center

The amount needed is $6 million to cover the building, taxes, legal fees and move in costs.  The building itself is an incredible price and… it is new.   Waiting for us.

We need investors.  We are looking for those who want to invest in Israeli property; in the people of the Shoah; in the Veterans who will give and receive when they come to meet these precious people.

We need those who will pray for AHI to receive this building for the Survivors and all who come to visit or help.

We need YOU.  Please ask God what part you have in this important project.
