A Few Words

“For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.”  Psalm 66:10-12

The Survivors certainly went through a refining fire in the Holocaust.  This verse describes their trauma.  But it also promises God bringing them THROUGH the refining process.

When silver is refined it must be held in the hottest part of the flame.  The exact moment the impurities are burned out it must be removed.  This is when it is perfect.

But sometimes there are impurities that refuse to burn away.  The silver does not release those impurities.  In cases like that the silver must be discarded as it is no good.

As HaShem takes us through the fire, and we have time when we are held to the flame so close and hot, we think we cannot stay there any longer.  But it is then we must choose to release our impurities, our bad habits and sin.  THEN we will be made perfect by the Master Refiner.

Are you holding onto things you need to release?  Please let it go.  Do not be discarded because of pride or some other fleshly desires.  Be made perfect even as He is Perfect!
