In the book “Neighbors: The Destruction of the Jewish Community in Jedwabne, Poland” by Jan Gross, the history is exposed. A dark and terrible truth, a difficult book to read, but it happened.
Not having guns the Polish men clubbed to death Jewish men who were their neighbors. Next the women and children were put into the building were the men’s bodies were thrown. They burned them alive. A total of approximately 400 people were massacred.
Today Poland’s leadership has made it a crime to say Poland was involved in anything in the Holocaust. Concentration camps cannot be mentioned. The Massacre of Jedwabne by the residents, not Nazis, is an inconvenient truth for the new laws.
