Did You Know…?

….Coco Chanel, an elite in the fashion industry, tried to use Nazi race laws to get rid of her Jewish partners that created her signature perfume, Chanel No. 5?

During WWII Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel had a relationship with a senior Nazi officer and agreed to be a spy for the Third Reich.  She then tried to use the Aryan laws to deprive her Jewish partners of their rights and property- the same men who created and marketed her perfume. The Wertheimer brothers escaped and she tried to use Winston Churchill in her scheme.

Because the Nazis need to concentrate on more munitions factories, any promise of assistance from them was not fulfilled. She failed in her attempt and post war was never prosecuted for any of her misdeeds.

A film has been made finally revealing the actual accounts: “Sleeping with the Enemy: Coco Chanel’s Secret War” based on the biography by Hal Vaughan.
