In Hebrew we use the word “todah” to say “Thank you.” But in Biblical Hebrew the root is “yada’” meaning to praise or to confess. In this manner when we praise God we are also 
confessing His goodness.
Throughout the Psalms David did just that– confessed to and about the majesty of God. .
“…I will confess my transgressions to the Lord…” Ps. 32:5
“Hodu l’Adonai ki-tov” “Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good” Ps 118:1
Confess as David did or give praise to the Lord.
